Pohlad Combines Cycle Biz in Delano

Twin Cities Automotive (TCA), owned by Pohlad Cos., in late 2013 acquired Delano Sports Center in Delano, Minn. and combined it with its existing business in town called Star West Motorsports.

Delano Sports Center was retailing Polaris, Victory and KTM brands. Star West was retailing Honda, Arctic Cat and Yamaha vehicles from a Chevrolet dealership.

Minnetonka-based TCA launched with the BMW, Hyundai and Chrysler brands, and in past years has purchased an additional two Audi dealerships, two Porsche dealerships, a Mercedes dealership and two Chevrolet dealerships.

TCA leaders have said they are exploring possible cross-selling opportunities with their car business.

Hitching Post Motorsports, which retails BMW, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Polaris, was founded in 1969 in a small store on University Avenue in St. Paul.

The motorcycle-riding group typically comes together for a minimum one ride per month during the riding season. Additionally, there are monthly get-togethers dubbed as 3rd Thursday events, held at a different location every month where like-minded riders and friends gather for a bit of bench racing. Ewwwwwww, E15

The American Motorcyclist Association says it believes the widespread release of E15 fuel into the U.S. market could be stalled for some time as motorcycle lobbyists continue to try to buy more time in order to get motorcycles that would be approved for the fuel on the road.

E15 fuel is currently available in a minority of states: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota, Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, Kansas and North Carolina.
